AMO Urban Symposium, April 18-19

Posted on February 22nd, by Move the GTHA in Map. No Comments

The Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO) annual symposium consistently brings leading edge speakers and learnings from other jurisdictions, broader perspectives and ideas to draw from. The 2013 Urban Symposium looks at trends and opportunities that are shaping the new urban landscape, particularly downtowns in our urban centres. It will also explore trends in urban service delivery, citizen engagement and infrastructure. Explore the theme of “Big City. Small City.”  and get a handle on the future in 2013!

The Symposium features a session on CivicAction’s Your 32 campaign, “Local Motion – Improving Transit in Ontario”
What would you do with an extra 32 minutes of time in your day? It’s a question that CivicAction has been asking people throughout the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. There’s a plan in place to address transportation congestion, but it will take support to see it through. Join Mitzie Hunter, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Toronto CivicAction Alliance, in a conversation about what a better transportation system means for civic and municipal leaders in the GTHA, and what’s needed to make it happen.
