Date: May 21

Time: 1-9pm

Location: Mississauga Convention Centre, 75 Derry Road West, Mississauga

About: The 2013 Mississauga Summit is bringing together key decision makers from Brampton, Oakville, Caledon and Mississauga to form the Western GTA Summit to tackle the common challenges that face the GTA. The central question that will guide the Summit is: Are we facing economic gridlock?

The key questions that will be asked throughout the Summit are:

  • How will we Move? Transit, road and air transportation issues, what we want and how will we pay for them.
  • How will we Live? City and neighbourhood building, density and zoning and what about the call for an end to urban sprawl?
  • How will we Thrive?  Fighting poverty with innovation and employment opportunities for youth and diverse communities.

The Western GTA Summit will discuss issues facing over 1.4 million people in the Western Greater Toronto Area. Each of the cities shares similar challenges with respect to growth, congestion and unemployment. More importantly, each city has a citizenry that wants a say in the important issues facing their communities and the larger region. To satisfy this strong desire, the Western GTA Summit will convene the political business and community leaders of these western GTA cities and charge them with finding common ground for discussion of solutions to these important questions.

For registration information and more about the summit visit the 2013 Mississuaga Summit website.
