An Invitation for Leaders to Discuss Transportation Investment
Move the GTHA has invited the Leader of each Ontario political party with elected representation in the Legislature – Premier Kathleen Wynne, Tim Hudak, and Andrea Horwath – to participate in a Virtual (Telephone) Town Hall on regional transportation funding with residents from across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA).
Thousands of GTHA residents will be invited to participate in the Virtual Town Hall(s) by listening on their telephones, and have the option of asking live questions. The invitations for GTHA residents to participate in the call will be sent randomly and distributed evenly across the region – reaching a diverse audience who’s voices may not regularly be heard in the conversation about regional transportation investment.
Through this format, each Leader was offered the opportunity to speak directly with the residents of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) about their views on regional transportation investment. If they accept the invitation, each Party leader will have the opportunity to participate in their own Virtual Town Hall (there will not be a panel discussion).
Invitations were sent to Premier Wynne, Mr. Hudak and Ms. Horwarth on March 4, 2014. Copies of the full invitations can be found below. We are awaiting responses and will announce the dates for upcoming Virtual Town Hall(s) shortly. Please check back soon for details.
