It’s Your Move: Call for investment in Public Transit and Active Transportation
The Toronto Centre for Active Transportation highlights the need for investment in public transit and active transportation in the region with it’s video series It’s Your Move. Whether it’s to make communities more age-friendly or to improve our environment and health, investing in active transportation makes streets safer and less congested for all users.
The latest video in the series features Dr. Scott Wooder, a family physician in Stoney Creek, Ontario and the President of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA). Dr. Wooder explains the importance of investment for our health and the costs associated with chronic illness, “Ontario needs safe roads for all users, young and old, in every part of the province. Really small investments in infrastructure allow for active transportation, and has tremendous health consequences and saves money in the long run.”
